Notes

The one that started it all, the original Gundam RX-78, piloted by 16 year-old Amuro Ray. The show went on air in the late 70's and made history.

This guy is now 5000+ polys without weapons, very light.

Although RX-78 has more than a handful of variations, I tried to stick with the old school design, the very first one which appeared on the first Gundam TV series in the 70's। Have had to make a few adjustments and compromises (mostly in joints) in preparation for animation.

Intro

The Gundam is one of three prototype mobile suits secretly developed by the embattled Earth Federation. After suffering tremendous losses to Zeon's mobile suits earlier in the war, the Federation set out to create its own, using the very latest advanced technology. The Gundam is the most successful of these prototypes, a close-combat mobile suit protected by tough Luna Titanium armor, and armed with both lethal beam sabers and a devastating beam rifle as powerful as a battleship cannon. It's also equipped with an advanced computer which learns from its pilot, ultimately enabling it to operate the Gundam automatically. In the hands of accidental pilot Amuro Ray, this one prototype mobile suit proves to be the equal of any Zeon weapon.

Another MS from "Char's Counter Attack", I was hoping to do a short (few seconds) with RX-93 (pictured) and Sazabi duking it out.

Intro

The Nu Gundam is the latest in the Earth Federation's line of Gundam mobile suits, developed by Anaheim Electronics from a design by ace pilot Amuro Ray. Relatively simple in design, its major distinguishing feature is the set of six fin funnels mounted on its back. These remote weapons not only house powerful mega particle cannons, but can also generate a protective barrier around the Gundam itself, thus increasing both its offensive and defensive abilities. Anaheim's engineers also equipped the Nu Gundam with a psyco-frame, whose microscopic psycommu receivers enable the mobile suit to respond instantly to the pilot's thoughts.

Beautiful Sazabi!

Notes

Sazabi, piloted by Char Aznable, appeared in Char's Counter Attack OVA, is definitely one of my favorite MS's of them all. This is done in Maya 8, rendered in color and occlusion and finally composited in Photoshop.

As with my previous models I am also aiming at low-poly on this one, so far it has just a tag bit over 10k without weapons, I feel I have gone over-board by over-defining the curved objects. With weapons this guy might get to around 15k.

Intro

This unique mobile suit was secretly produced by Anaheim Electronics, for the personal use of Neo Zeon leader Char Aznable. The Sazabi's lightweight armor materials and numerous maneuvering verniers make it very agile despite its bulk, and its responsiveness is further enhanced by Neo Zeon's revolutionary psyco-frame technology. In addition to its complement of remote-controlled funnels, the Sazabi's major weapons include a built-in mega particle cannon, a powerful beam tomahawk, and a unique beam shot rifle with separate barrels for firing tightly-focused beams and scattershot blasts.
